Molecular Research Core Facility


The Advanced Imaging Core Facility houses several histological preparation machines. This includes a Leica CM3050 motorized cryostat for sectioning frozen tissue samples; Leica RM2255 fully automated rotary microtome for paraffin- or resin-embedded tissue sectioning; and a Leica TP1020 benchtop tissue processor for gentle and precise preparation and treatment of tissues.

Gentle specimen processing and a high level of specimen safety at all stages of the processing run are supported by the robust design based on precision mechanics in conjunction with a modern user interface.

Designed for fully motorized sectioning of both paraffin- and resin-embedded specimens, the Leica RM2255 supports a broad spectrum of applications; in routine and research laboratories; in histology; in industrial materials and quality control.

When working with delicate specimens the precise specimen orientation and the specimen feed system of the Leica cryostat guarantees reproducible, thin, serial sections of maximum quality.
