Hometown: Richland, Wash.

High School: Richland High School

Class Year: Sophomore

Major: Biochemistry

Interests/Hobbies: Spending time with my husband and two dogs, hiking

Career goal: I am hoping to earn a Ph.D in chemistry, then work in research.

Why ISU? My husband has a job in Idaho Falls. My brother started attending Idaho State University in nuclear engineering, and he started telling me about the school. As an older student, I knew I wouldn't be out of place.

ISU Experience: So far, it's been good. I've been able to get the classes I need when I need them. With it being a smaller school, I get a lot more hands-on time with instructors. You aren't just a number. They care about you, how your classes are going, what your goals are, and particularly, how they can help you with those goals. There are also a lot of opportunities for undergraduate research.

Nationally the amount of student debt following graduation continues to increase. For information on how you can help educate the next generation of great Idaho State University scholars contact the ISU Foundation or call (208) 282-3470.
