Application for Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Counseling Program

PLEASE NOTE: The Department of Counseling interviews applicants, and admits students yearly during the spring semester for course work to begin the next fall semester.

All application materials for the Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Counseling program must be submitted through the Graduate School to be considered for admission for the following academic year.To apply go to http://www.isu.edu/apply/.

The deadline to apply is December 15, 2016.

The GRE or MAT is required. December 1, 2016 is the latest advisable date to take either the GRE or MAT to ensure that official scores are received by the application deadline.

If you are interested in admission and the December 15, 2016 deadline has passed, contact the Department of Counseling. A secondary admission process may be conducted after April 1, 2017 if the program has not filled with quality applicants.

As of the 2016-2017 school year, the Department of Counseling is now part of the WRGP (Western Region Graduate Programs). The WRGP is a consortium of states that agree to substantially discount out of state tuition for graduate students from the states listed below:

Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawai‘i, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands are eligible for consideration.
