Report on Needs Assessment of Older Adults in Idaho

The Institute of Rural Health at Idaho State University was contracted by the Idaho Commission on Aging (ICOA) to evaluate the needs of older adults in Idaho for long-term care services and supports. The final report is now available on the ICOA website.

NIMH Announces New Outreach Partners

Results from Primary Care Provider Survey available

156 respondents from across the state of Idaho are participating in the Institute of Rural Health’s Primary Care Provider survey. This online survey collects information regarding practice patterns related to chronic diseases including hypertension and diabetes, along with use of electronic health records (EHRs) to inform preventive care. These results from this will be used to develop plans promoting prevention, early detection, and treatment of chronic diseases in Idaho.

April 2014

Institute partners with IDHW for study on Primary Care Providers

The Idaho State University Institute of Rural Health is partnering with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) to conduct a baseline study on primary care providers’ use of team-based care, referral patterns, and electronic health records (EHR) for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. Other partnering organizations include the Idaho Medical Association, the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians, the Idaho Primary Care Association, and St. Luke’s Health System. More details here.
