Idaho State University Women’s Rodeo Team Wins College National Finals Rodeo
The Idaho State University women's rodeo team, led by freshman Kimberlyn Fehringer Fitch of American Falls, won the College Nationals Finals Rodeo on June 15 in Casper, Wyo.
The ISU women's team finished first with 520 team points; Northeastern Junior College was second with 490 points; and Tarleton State University was third with 435 points. The College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls finished fifth with 365. (more…)

Shark week is every week in Idaho this Year! Idaho Museum of Natural History opens whorl tooth sharks exhibit June 22
The Idaho Museum of Natural History on the ISU campus in Pocatello is opening a major new exhibit based on a giant prehistoric shark found in the phosphate mines of Idaho. "The Whorl Tooth Sharks of Idaho" opens on June 22 and runs through the end of the year.
The exhibit features a wide array of fossils of the 270-million-year-old shark called Helicoprion, along with original artworks by Alaskan artist Ray Troll, life-sized sculptures of the shark bursting through the museum walls by sculptor Gary Staab, original music, a short documentary and much more. There are children's activities too, so it promises to be fun for the whole family. (more…)
CW HOG Kids Camp scheduled July 8-12 at Idaho State University
The Idaho State University CW HOG annual Kids Camp for children of all abilities ages 7-13 will run July 8-12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. meeting at the ISU Pond Student Union.

11th annual Claude Larsen Memorial Golf Tournament set July 20 at Pocatello’s Riverside Golf Course
POCATELLO – The Idaho State University Cooperative Wilderness Handicapped Outdoor Group (CW HOG) will hold the 11th annual Claude Larsen Memorial Golf Tournament on July 20 at the Riverside Golf Course in Pocatello.
Registration for the four-person scramble is $40 per person in advance at the ISU Outdoor Adventure Center/CW HOG Office in the Pond Student Union on the ISU campus or the Riverside and Highland Golf Courses in Pocatello. Registration will be $50 per person at Riverside Golf Course the day of the event. (more…)

Richard Brey named Idaho State University Science and Engineering Interim Dean
Idaho State University officials announced the selection of Richard Brey as interim dean of the Idaho State University College of Science and Engineering.
Brey, a professor of physics, has worked at ISU since 1994 and has served as the chair of the ISU Department of Nuclear Engineering and Health Physics this year and was that department’s associate chair 2010-13. He was also the director of the ISU Health Physics Program. (more…)
Seventh annual Idaho State University Stephens Foosball Tournament fundraiser set June 9
POCATELLO — The Seventh Annual Blake Stephens Foosball Tournament is June 9 at 1 p.m. at Hooligans.
The event, which raises scholarship money for student veterans attending Idaho State University, honors local Army soldier Sgt. Blake Stephens who was killed in Iraq in 2007 by a roadside bomb. Stephens often played foosball at the local establishment.
No experience is necessary. Entry fee is $12 and includes a beverage and t-shirt.
The Sgt. Blake Stephens Scholarship became the official scholarship of ISU's Veterans Sanctuary program in 2010.

Idaho State University ranks in the top 15 nationally among lowest-cost public universities with high starting salaries
POCATELLO — Idaho State University ranks as the 15th lowest-cost public university with high starting salaries, according to a national survey of 4,000 colleges and universities.
AffordableCollegesOnline.org (ACO) has released a unique new list of 60 low-cost colleges with graduates who earn high starting salaries. To compile its list, ACO reviewed four-year, fully-accredited public institutions with in-state tuition of less than $5,000 per year (not including fees), and with average starting salaries for graduates of more than $40,000 per year. The website also looked at mid-career salary averages as well as the overall return on investment for the degree. (more…)
