Ten Idaho State University alumni honored with 2013 Professional Achievement Awards
Ten Idaho State University alumni will be honored with ISU Professional Achievement Awards at ISU Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 11, in Holt Arena.
Professional Achievement Award recipients are alumni who have made important contributions to their careers or profession, to the social, political or economic well-being of the world around them and have shown continued community and civic involvement in addition to their association with and contributions to Idaho State University. Individuals selected for these prestigious awards have been out of school at least 10 years and have excelled in their chosen field, attaining significant success and accomplishments.
Professional Achievement Award recipients for 2013 are: Richard Ardinger, Boise, College of Arts and Letters, Fine Arts and Humanities; Col. F. Idaho State University math team places near top in national mathematics modeling content
Three undergraduate Idaho State University students were sequestered in a room for most of four days earlier this semester to do battle with 5,636 other three-person teams from 14 countries from around the world in the 2013 COMAP (The Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications) Mathematics Modeling contest.
The team worked from about 9 a.m. to as late as midnight during the four-day contest, averaging 15- to 16-hour work days.
At the end of the marathon event, ISU's team earned a meritorious rating, finishing in the top 15 percent of competing teams. (more…)

Idaho State-Civic Symphony to present final concert of season on April 26; guest conductor Heuser to present ‘Brahms and the Romantics’
The final concert of the Idaho State-Civic Symphony's 2012-2013 season will be held on Friday, April 26, in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall of the Stephens Performing Arts Center.
