Shark week is every week in Idaho this Year! Idaho Museum of Natural History opens whorl tooth sharks exhibit June 22
The Idaho Museum of Natural History on the ISU campus in Pocatello is opening a major new exhibit based on a giant prehistoric shark found in the phosphate mines of Idaho. "The Whorl Tooth Sharks of Idaho" opens on June 22 and runs through the end of the year.
The exhibit features a wide array of fossils of the 270-million-year-old shark called Helicoprion, along with original artworks by Alaskan artist Ray Troll, life-sized sculptures of the shark bursting through the museum walls by sculptor Gary Staab, original music, a short documentary and much more. There are children's activities too, so it promises to be fun for the whole family. (more…)
Idaho State University well represented at American Nuclear Society Student Conference; grad student Scott McBeath delivers winning paper
Idaho State University nuclear engineering master's student Scott McBeath earned a best graduate student paper award at the American Nuclear Society 2013 Student Conference in Boston this month, and overall ISU was well represented at the conference. (more…)
Idaho State University Library art show by Catherine Reinhardt runs through May 31
The of Idaho State University Eli M. Oboler Library is exhibiting the artwork Catherine Reinhardt, graduate student in the ISU Department of Art, through May 31.
Reinhardt, who will graduate in May, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Auburn University in Alabama and a master's degree in teaching from the University of Virginia. A native of Alabama, Reinhardt lives in Pocatello with her husband and son. (more…)

Idaho Science and Engineering Festival is new feature of 2013 Celebrate Idaho State event on March 19 at Idaho State University
Science and science education will be on display this week at the Idaho Science and Engineering Festival, which is part of the Celebrate Idaho State event in the Pond Student Union March 19 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Science and Engineering Festival will feature interactive exhibits and games from science departments. Some examples of activities include building a catapult, designing an device to catch an egg falling from various distances, building a paper rocket, and much more. (more…)
Idaho State University Senior Art Exhibition runs March 12-22, opening March 11
The Spring 2013 Idaho State University Bachelor of Art/Bachelor of Fine Art Senior Exhibition will run March 12-22 in the Davis Gallery located in the Fine Arts Building at Idaho State University.
The opening reception for artists, who are scheduled to graduate in May, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 11.
