The last exhibition of 2009 in the Idaho State University John B. Davis Gallery is the Annual Graduate Student Art Exhibition titled "Intersect."

The Idaho State University International Students Association invites the whole community to experience the beautiful and exuberant culture of the world at ISU International Night 2009 on Saturday, Nov. 7, in the Pond Student Union Ballroom.

Idaho State University will host the Fall 2009 Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Exhibition at the John B. Davis Gallery, located in the Fine Arts building. This exhibition will feature artists Kyle Jorgensen and Christopher “Sauce” Hull.

The exhibition dates are Oct. 20 through Oct. 30, with an opening reception for the artists Monday, Oct. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. All events are free and open to the public. (more…)

Idaho State University has received a $329,670 federal grant to help create the ISU Idaho Oral Health Institute (IOHI). The vision of the Institute is to provide a center for oral health education, research and clinical practice in Idaho and the Pacific Northwest, as well as nationally and internationally.

ISU received the grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). (more…)

A historic mural and beautiful painting of Chief Pocatello that was displayed for more than 50 years at the Pocatello Union Pacific Railroad Depot has found a new home in the Idaho State University L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center and will be unveiled during a ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 1.

The mural, named “Pocatello in 1878 Chief Pocatello in the Background” on its original brass plate, was painted in 1943 by the Bethal Morris Farley, a Pocatello artist who lived from July 5, 1895, to Oct. 8, 1985. (more…)

The first exhibition of fall 2009 at the John B. Davis Gallery of Idaho State University is “Patterns of Symbiosis” by visiting artist Paul LaJeunesse.

The display will run through Sept. 18 at the John B. Davis Gallery, with a closing reception for the artist Friday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.

This exhibition is part one of a two-part lecture series titled “Landscape – Observe and Recreate,” held by the ISU Department of Art and Pre-Architecture. The artist lecture will be Friday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. in Room 401 Fine Arts Building. (more…)

Idaho State University undergraduate and graduate students can enter a contest to create the design for this year’s ISU Holiday card. The contest winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship, the runner up a $500 scholarship.

The deadline for entries is Oct. 19 and the winning selection will be announced by Oct. 26. Entrants should try to capture the spirit and beauty of the holiday season, while thematically incorporating ISU. (more…)
