‘TANGENTIAL’ art exhibit opens Aug. 27 at Idaho State University Davis Gallery

The first exhibition of fall 2012 semester at the John B. Davis Gallery of Idaho State University is "TANGENTIAL" by Naomi S. Adams.  

An opening reception will be held Monday, Aug. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. and the exhibit runs from Aug. 28 – Sept. 7. (more…)

Idaho State University students will have a chance to win a car and other great prizes, plus enjoy free food, music and a variety of booths and entertainment during the third annual "Welcome Back Orange and Black" from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 27 in Old Town Pocatello.

Idaho Museum of Natural History partners with Smithsonian Institution in new affiliation, research projects

The Idaho Museum of Natural History at Idaho State University has announced a new affiliation and new cooperative research ventures with the Smithsonian Institution.

"This is a great opportunity for Idaho," said Herbert Maschner, director of the Idaho Museum of Natural History. "We're the only museum in the state with a Smithsonian Affiliation, and one of the few in the Intermountain West." (more…)

Idaho Museum of Natural History to open two new exhibits June 8; Camas Prairie natural, cultural history explored & Crabtree featured

The Idaho Museum of Natural History at Idaho State University will open two new exhibits – "Exploring the Camas Prairie" and "A Don Crabtree Retrospective" – on Friday, June 8.

The public exhibits will be open from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. on June 8. Regular Museum hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and closed Sunday through Tuesday. Admission is free, although contributions are welcome. (more…)

Idaho State University Anderson Center to host art unveiling at Take Back the Night March and Rally on May 4

The May 4 Pocatello Take Back the Night March, organized so community members can show their support in the fight against sexual assault and domestic violence, will be held this year in coordination with the Old Town Art Walk and features a new route and an art installation.

The Anderson Gender Resource Center at Idaho State University, in close collaboration with Family Services Alliance (FSA), Old Town Pocatello Art Walk, Bannock County Sexual and Domestic Violence Task Force, Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health, and Family Court Services Sixth District, is hosting Take Back the Night. Goslee, Papa, Wong honored as 2012 Idaho State University Distinguished Faculty

Three Idaho State University faculty members were named as Distinguished Faculty at an awards ceremony on April 12 at the Stephens Performing Arts Center, and will be honored at ISU commencement May 5.

They are Susan Goslee, assistant professor of English, Distinguished Teacher; Jared Papa, service learning coordinator/clinical assistant professor, physician assistant studies, ISU-Meridian, Distinguished Service Award; Maria Wong, associate professor of psychology, Distinguished Researcher. Anderson Center at Idaho State University to host art workshop April 17, installation May 4

The Anderson Gender Resource Center at Idaho State University, through a grant from the Health and Human Services (HHS) Office on Women, is hosting an art workshop April 17 and a community art installation May 4 at the Old Town Pavilion in Pocatello.

The installation will support survivors of domestic violence and create public awareness of this important local issue. (more…)
