Women and Work conference to focus on trade, technology careers
The seventh annual Idaho State University Women and Work “Opportunities in Trade and Technology Careers” Conference is scheduled March 7.
The conference, sponsored by the ISU College of Technology Center for New Directions, is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Ballroom, 1065 South Cesar Chavez Way, Pocatello.
Museum’s ‘Natural History Revealed’ series set for home-school students
Home-school families with children 8 to 12 years old won’t want to miss a special series being offered by the Idaho Museum of Natural History this winter.
Museum sets ‘Winter Fun Free Day’ Feb. 17
The Idaho Museum of Natural History is offering another “Wild Winter Fun Family Free Day” on Saturday, Feb. 17. Museum admission will be free all day and a special family activity will take place at 1 p.m.

Math, Computer Science Club to sponsor sudoku puzzle contest Feb. 20
The Idaho State University Mathematics/Computer Science Club will sponsor a sudoku puzzle contest on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The puzzle-solving champion will win a grand prize of $100. There also will be semi-finalist prizes and door prizes.
Holt Arena, Stephens Center event tickets now available online
Idaho State University is now offering the convenience of online event ticket purchases. Tickets for all events held at Holt Arena and the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center are available. Beginning this summer, Bengal football season ticket holders will be able to renew their season tickets online as well. Rep. Simpson, INL officials hail future Idaho State University energy center
Today, the vision and plans, along with the partners involved in the development of the Energy Systems Technology and Education Center on the Idaho State University Campus were unveiled at a press conference. Rep. Mike Simpson, the Governor’s Educational Liaison Karen McGee, and Idaho State University President Arthur C. Vailas, in conjunction with other state, business and government leaders, elaborated on the impact to economic development, education, and employment and the national need to repopulate a shrinking energy sector workforce.

The event is free and the public is invited. It is sponsored by the American Chemical Society, the ACS Idaho Section, and the ISU Chemistry Department.
