The U.S. Army Simulation and Training Technology Center named the Idaho State University "Play2Train" Second Life application produced by Rameshsharma Ramloll as a finalist for the inaugural Federal Virtual Worlds Challenge.
Ramloll is a research assistant professor for the Idaho State University Institute of Rural Health. The ISU program was one of nine finalists in the Government/Government Contractor category and is among the top three in the "skill building" category for the Government/Government Contractor stream. • Idaho State University’s The Center of New Directions 10th annual Women & Work Conference: The Center for New Directions at Idaho State University is presenting its10th annual Women & Work Conference on Wednesday, March 10, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the ISU Pond Student Union Ballroom. The keynote speaker’s presentation will be free to the public. The conference fee price is $20 for the general public and $9.50 for ISU students with a valid Bengal card. Ann Kirkwood, senior research associate for Idaho State University’s Institute of Rural Health, has been named to serve on the Steering Committee for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Resource Center to Promote Acceptance, Dignity and Social Inclusion Associated with Mental Health (ADS). Wednesday, March 10, is going to be a long day for the Idaho State University students in Associate Professor Tom Terry’s photojournalism class.
On that day, more than two-dozen students will fan out across Pocatello, Chubbuck and immediately surrounding areas to capture a 24-hour photographic portrait of those communities.
“A lot of the photos will be just of people going about their daily lives, just like any regular day,” Terry said. “In fact that’s what we intend. (more…)
