Idaho State University physics department to host middle school Science Olympiad on March 17

The Idaho State University Department of Physics will host a regional Science Olympiad on Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Physical Science Building on the corner of 8th Avenue and Carter Street on the ISU campus.  

Seventh- through ninth-grade students from throughout eastern Idaho will represent their schools and communities and compete in teams in a variety of science competitions. (more…)

Idaho Museum of Natural History to host variety of CommUniversity events

The array of activities offered by the Idaho Museum of Natural History at the second annual Celebrate Idaho State University CommUniversity event on March 13 demonstrate the range of event and educational opportunities that will be available to participants.

CommUniversity will run from 4 to 7 p.m. and there are more than 90 groups providing free information, tours, entertainment, culture, food, scientific displays and demonstrations in the Pond Student Union and at the Idaho Museum of Natural History. (more…)

ISU Idaho Awareness to Action youth suicide prevention projects offers third free training in Treasure Valley May 15 due to high demand

Registration is now being accepted for Idaho State University’s Institute of Rural Health youth suicide prevention training Tuesday, May 15, at the Joint School District No. 2 Service Center, Salmon River Room, 1303 E. Central Drive, in Meridian.

Idaho State University, BYU-Idaho sign agreement to facilitate graduate studies at ISU

Officials at Idaho State University and Brigham Young University-Idaho announce that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will allow select undergraduate BYU-Idaho students to gain early admission into graduate programs at ISU. (more…)

April springs return of Science Trek 2012 for third and fifth graders set April 13

Idaho State University and the Idaho Museum of Natural History will present a night of scientific exploration with Science Trek 2012 on Friday, April 13, at the Museum.

The overnight, sleep-at-the-museum experience will allow children in third through the fifth grades to learn about the frontiers of science. The workshop-style Science Trek Adventures include hands-on activities and live science presentations, experiments and demonstrations. (more…)
