Idaho State University Mail Center employee and ISU student Brittany Greenleaf, of Boise, was named Student Employee of the Year and awarded a $2,000 scholarship as part of National Student Employment Week. (more…)

Idaho State University students to host concert to benefit women’s shelter in Idaho Falls

Idaho State University students enrolled in the "First Year Seminar" class in Idaho Falls will host a benefits concert for the local women's shelter on May 4 at the Red Lion Hotel located at 475 River Parkway in Idaho Falls.

Organizing the concert is part of a service-learning project for students enrolled in the class. Bands performing include 2am Logic and Liberty Lush. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the concert will begin at 8 p.m. The cost to attend is $5 and there will be a beer garden for adults 21 and older.  (more…)

R. Scott Rasmussen appointed dean of Idaho State University College of Technology

Idaho State University has appointed R. Scott Rasmussen as the permanent dean of the ISU College of Technology.  Dr. Barbara Adamcik, Interim Provost and Vice President, made the official announcement earlier this month in a campus-wide e-mails to faculty and staff.  Rasmussen has served in the interim role since May 2011. Idaho State University ‘Wonders of Physics’ demo set April 28 as finale of science/engineering festival

The Idaho State University Department of Physics and the ISU Society of Physics Students will present a "Wonders of Physics" demonstration show free of charge and open to the public on Saturday, April 28, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The demonstration will be held in Room 140 of the ISU Physical Science Building on the southwest corner of 8th Street and Carter Street on the ISU Pocatello campus. (more…)

Goslee, Papa, Wong honored as 2012 Idaho State University Distinguished Faculty

Three Idaho State University faculty members were named as Distinguished Faculty at an awards ceremony on April 12 at the Stephens Performing Arts Center, and will be honored at ISU commencement May 5.

They are Susan Goslee, assistant professor of English, Distinguished Teacher; Jared Papa, service learning coordinator/clinical assistant professor, physician assistant studies, ISU-Meridian, Distinguished Service Award; Maria Wong, associate professor of psychology, Distinguished Researcher. Third annual Idaho State University Veterans Family BBQ and Family Day at the Zoo set April 28

The Idaho State University Veterans Sanctuary and ISU Armed Forces Veterans' Club will present the third annual Veterans Family BBQ and Family Day at the Zoo on Saturday, Apr. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Upper Ross Park shelter.

Food, zoo tickets and disc golfing are free of charge. Supplies are limited - first come first serve. Live music will be performed by Tony Rosario and the Hillbilly Healers. (more…)

Idaho State University to host Idaho Science and Engineering Festival April 28; more than 30 booths will offer hands-on science demonstrations

Idaho State University's Pocatello campus will host the 2012 Idaho Science and Engineering Festival on April 28, featuring more than 30 scientists and engineers who will host hands-on learning booths from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Ballroom, followed by ISU physic Professor Steve Shropshire's "Wonders of Physics" show in the ISU Physical Science Building, Room 140 at 5 p.m. (more…)
