ISU art department to hold two receptions Jan. 18; second faculty exhibit reception and new ‘PUSH/PULL’ exhibit featured

The Idaho State University Department of Art will host an opening reception for two exhibitions on Friday, Jan. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the ISU Fine Arts Building.

"We are excited to have a second opening of the Annual Faculty Art Exhibition for anyone who was unable to attend the opening last semester," said Amy Jo Popa, Davis Gallery Director.  "In conjunction with the faculty art Exhibition we will be hosting an exhibition of a portfolio of prints titled 'PUSH/PULL' in the Compartment Gallery on the fourth floor of the Fine Arts Building, in Room 408."

‘Smart Phones: Issues and Solutions’ is Topic of Jan. 18 Idaho State University Faculty Development Seminar

"Smart Phones: Issues and Solutions" is the topic of the Idaho State University Faculty Development Seminar by David Nghiem, president of Global Wireless, from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18.

The seminar will be held in Room 7 of the ISU Eli Oboler Library and will be broadcast to Room 311 of the Center for Higher Education at University Place in Idaho Falls. It will also be broadcast to rooms at ISU-Meridian and ISU-Twin Falls. (more…)

Martin Luther King, Jr. poetry contests open to Idaho State University, K-12 students

As part of Idaho State University Martin Luther King, Jr./Idaho Human Rights Day Celebrations, poetry contests will be held for elementary, middle school and high school students, and for ISU students.

This contest seeks original poems of up to 40 lines that explore the theme of this year’s celebration, "The Lessons of Dr. Martin Luther King." The contest will dovetail with the NAACP essay contest for high school-aged students.    (more…)
