Events for Disability Awareness Week are as follows:

• Tuesday, Feb. 24 – College of Education Auditorium, 2 p.m., Mike O’Blenis, chief executive officer of Development Workshop, a man with learning disabilities and significant achievement, will present his journey. All students, faculty and staff in the education, counseling, social work, psychology and health-related professions are encouraged to attend.

• Wednesday, Feb. 25 – From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the ADA Center has reserved tables in the Pond Student Union for information sharing.  Please let the ADA Center know if you are interested in table space.

• Wednesday, Feb. 25 – From noon to 1 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Heritage Room, Robert Wood, ADA Center Deaf Services Coordinator, will demonstrate some newer technology and avenues of providing classroom transcriptions. • Thursday, Feb. 26 – There will be a demonstration/presentation by Todd DeVries, assistive technology specialist, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Pond Student Union Bear River Room. This presentation seeks to demonstrate the utility of designing classes in a manner that meets a variety of student needs. The workshop will provide an introduction to the principles of Universal Design in Learning (UDI) and provide a chance to discuss how they may be applied.

•  Friday, Feb. 27 – The ISU ADA Center will have an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ADA Center is located in Room 123 of Graveley Hall.
