ISU to offer telemark skiing, avalanche workshops

Idaho State University will offer an avalanche workshop Jan. 27-28 and Jan. 30-31 and a telemark skiing workshop Jan. 30-31.

These workshops are offered by the ISU Outdoor Adventure Center and the ISU College of Education’s Department of Sport Science and Physical Education.

The avalanche workshop will run from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 27-28, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Jan. 30-31.  The cost is $90. Participants may sign up for the class at the ISU Outdoor Adventure Center located on the lower level of the Pond Student Union, or call 282-3912.

The telemark workshop will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Jan. 30-31 at Pebble Creek Ski Resort. Participants can sign up at the Outdoor Adventure Center or at the Pebble Creek Ski Resort. The cost is $90. Participants must provide or rent their own telemark skiing equipment, which can be rented at the Outdoor Adventure Rental Center. Fees cover lift tickets and instruction. The workshop is for beginners and those who need to refine their turns.  For more information call 282-3912.
