Idaho State University will present Colbie Caillat in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jensen Grand Concert Hall in the L. E. and Thelma E. Performing Arts Center.
Caillat, the platinum-plus, award winning singer/songwriter recently released her sophomore album “Breakthrough,” which hit the top spot on the iTunes album chart, making Caillat one of the few female artists to have both her debut album “Coco” and follow-up album both reach no. 1 on the popular digital music destination.
Her new hit single, “Fallin For You,” the first single of the new album, is getting a big thumbs up from friends and critics in high places from People Magazine and Billboard, to Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, who are Twittering about the song’s infectious melody and lyrics.
Her multi-platinum debut album, “Coco,” which spawned the 2007 award-winning mega-hit “Bubbly,” went on to sell more than 2 million copies. Caillat, who won the songwriter of the year award at the 57th annual BMI Pop awards, also won song of the year honors for “Bubbly,” her international hit published by CocoMarie. In addition to “Bubbly,” Caillat’s “Realize” earned a spot in the top-50 most performed list.
