The Idaho State University Bengal Dancers will host a Spring Dance Showcase at 7 p.m. Friday, April 2, and Saturday, April 3, in the Diane and Chick Bilyeu Theatre in Frazier Hall.
The evening of dance will include various styles including jazz, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, tap and ballet. Seven group pieces were choreographed and set by members of the ISU Bengal Dancers.
Local dance groups and Danson, Idaho State University’s student dance club, will join the event as guest performers.
A solo will be performed by team captain Chelsea Kaminska and a duet by the Schiess sisters, team captain Savana and sister Paetan. Hilary Johnson, head coach of the Bengal Dancers and ISU adjunct dance faculty, contributed a jazz piece. The Bengal Dancers will also perform “Viva,” their 2010 award-winning routine choreographed by nationally renowned dancer and choreographer Fred Odgaard.
