Idaho Museum of Natural History to offer Summer Science Snack Program for kids who’ve completed grades first through sixth

The Idaho Museum of Natural History will offer fun, educational opportunities for children this summer in its summer science snack program scheduled in July for children in first through third, and fourth through sixth grades.

The 2-1/2-hour classes will be offered Monday-Friday July 9-13, July 16-20 and July 23-27. 

Class fees are $40 per student, or $35 for each additional child per family.

Classes are taught by elementary education pre-service teachers from the Idaho State University's College of Education.

All classes will be held at the Idaho Museum of Natural History, located at Dillon Street and South Fifth Avenue on the campus of Idaho State University in Pocatello. Summer Science Snack Classes offered include:

July 9-13, Monday - Friday – "Merry-Go-Round: Cycles of Life"

This class is for students who have completed first through third grades and will be taught 9-11:30 a.m. by Kelly Pokorny.

July 9-13, Monday - Friday – "A Diversity of Vertebrates"

This class is for students who have completed fourth through sixth grades and will be taught 1-3.30 p.m. a.m. by Meagan Williamson.

July 9-13, Monday – Friday – "Renewable Energy"

This class is for students who have completed seventh and eighth grades and will be taught 1-3:30 p.m. by Cynthia Lund.

July 16-20, Monday - Friday – "Oceans and Coral Reefs"

This class is for students who have completed first through third grades and will be taught 9-11:30 a.m. by Megan Williamson.

July 16-20, Monday - Friday – "Focus on Earth"

This class is for students who have completed first through third grades and will be taught 9-11:30 a.m. by Kelly Pokorny.

July 16-20, Monday - Friday – "Physics"

This class is for students who have completed first through third grades and will be taught 1-3:30 p.m. by Jocelyn Foreman.

July 16-20, Monday - Friday – "Owls as the Keystone"

This class is for students who have completed first through third grades and will be taught from 1-3:30 p.m. by Cynthia Lund.

 July 23-27, Monday - Friday – "Push Me, Pull You?"

This class is for students who have completed first through third grades and will be taught from 9-11:30 a.m. by Kelly Pokorny

 July 23-27, Monday - Friday – "Biology and Genetics"

This class is for students who have completed fourth through sixth grades and will be taught from 9-11:30 a.m. by Jocelyn Foreman.

 July 23-27, Monday - Friday – "Cell Biology"

This class is for students who have completed fourth through sixth grades and will be taught from 1-3:30 p.m. by Meagan Williamson.

 July 23-27, Monday - Friday – "Catapulting into Simple Machines"

This class is for students who have completed seventh and eight grades and will be taught from 1-3:30 p.m. by Cynthia Lund.
