These classes are useful in improving skills for a new or better job, completing a GED, preparing for college, and/or helping children with their homework.
To begin classes on April 9, pre-register the week of April 2. Call 282-2468 to schedule an appointment. All new students must complete a pre-test to be able to attend classes. Pre-testing is valuable in identifying current academic skills for placement into appropriate level classes. It is also useful in identifying how close a person is to completing the GED.
These services are located at the Adult Success Center on the third floor of the Roy F. Christensen Building (#48) at the ISU College of Technology.
Additional services are available. Job Education Training (JET) classes are offered to eligible individuals who have a child under age 18. Possible classes include office basics, customer service, and basic bookkeeping. The Center for New Directions offers career and personal counseling to assist individuals with career and educational goals. Center services are free of charge and confidential. The Adult Success Center and the Center for New Directions also offer GED scholarships for area students who qualify.
Services are also available at outreach locations in Malad, Preston, Soda Springs, Montpelier, McCammon, downtown Pocatello, American Falls, Aberdeen and Blackfoot.
Each year, ISU holds GED graduation exercises. This year, the GED graduation will be held on Friday, June 1, at the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.
For more information on any of these ISU programs or GED graduation, call 282-2468.
