Research Interests:

German immigration to the United States after WWI, with focus on cultural exchange between the two countries. Currently working on a digital history project involving German immigrant men's choral groups known as Männerchor, and their contributions to the soundscapes of modernity in the 1920s United States. Dr. Kuhlman has twice been awarded as ISU Outstanding Researcher.
