Idaho Yesterdays

Fall 2009 Issue Now Available

The latest issue of Idaho Yesterdays can be read online at: http://idahoyesterdays.org. The issue features retrospectives on Vardis and Opal Fisher and the Idaho delegation to the 1968 Democratic National Convention, along with a photo essay on land use changes in the Palouse region in the early-twentieth century. There are also several book reviews and our latest listing of recent works in Idaho history.

Volume46 Idaho Yesterdays maintains its status as the leading academic journal in the state, publishing solid historical research about Idaho and the intermountain West under the editorial direction of Kevin Marsh at Idaho State University and the support of Boise State University and the Idaho State Historical Society (ISHS), which publishes the journal. Associate editors include Laura Woodworth-Ney and Ron Hatzenbuehler.

In publication since 1957, Idaho Yesterdays began life as a digital, on-line journal in 2009. It remains the only academic journal devoted specifically to the study of Idaho history and culture and a vehicle for educating students and the public. Current issues are available at http://idahoyesterdays.org. This website will also manage all submissions of manuscripts. For further questions, please contact Kevin Marsh at idahoyesterdays@gmail.com.

To complement to the new format for Idaho Yesterdays, Idaho State University, Boise State University, and the ISHS are jointly publishing a new journal, Idaho Landscapes: History, Science, and Art, beginning with the first issue in winter 2008-2009. Volume47-1 This peer-reviewed magazine of popular scholarship is edited jointly by Laura Woodworth-Ney, chair of the ISU History Department; Todd Shallat, director of the Center for Idaho History and Politics; and Keith Peterson, Idaho State Historian. Subscriptions may be added to membership in the ISHS. See the membership page for details. Recent copies may be purchased online at booksboisestate.com.
