Bennion Scholar Program
Samuel Horne Bennion was a legendary Idaho Businessman who was absolutely committed to Idaho State University. Over his lifetime Mr. Bennion donated millions of dollars to Idaho State University. As one of his final gifts, in the fall of 2005 Mr. Bennion gave nearly $700,000 to the Idaho State University Honors Program. He had one request, he wanted Idaho’s Best and Brightest to stay and gain their educations in Idaho.
In order for students to be considered for this award and the additional scholarship dollars there are two requirements:
- The student must apply to the Idaho State University Honors Program by February 15
- The student must apply to Idaho State University by February 15
Our Commitment to High Achieving Students
Idaho State University is committed to providing as much information as possible to high achieving students. We want students to be able to make fair comparisons across colleges. Therefore, once a student has completed her or his application to both Idaho State University and the Idaho State University Honors Program using the two separate application forms, that student will receive his/her scholarship award letter within two weeks.
I-Care Scholarship: This scholarship is designed to aid those Honors students that are transferring to Idaho State University from another higher education campus or a late-entry into the Honors Program (i.e. second semester of their first-year or beyond). Students must have been admitted into the Honors Program before they are eligible to apply for the I-Care Scholarship. In addition, students must enroll in and maintain full-time student status (12 credits per semester) and meet the Honors requirements.
The I-Care Scholarship is made possible by donations by various community sponsors and parents of University Honors students.
Deadline April 1, 2017
SDS Scholarship: A brand new scholarship for all second, third, and fourth year Honors students. You must have participated in the Honors Program for 1 year to be eligible to apply. (Current first year students you can apply as the scholarship will be for the Fall 2017 semester).
