The Economic Burden of Injuries to Alaska Natives: Implications for Prevention and Health Policy

This new research study with the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is designed to draw estimates of the economic cost of injuries to Alaska Natives, the effect of injury on the population structure of Alaska Tribal communities, and the resulting ability to develop and remain economically viable. Additionally, it will examine alternative uses of health care to maximize the impact of specific treatment and prevention interventions, identify health policy options, and make recommendations for the effective use of available health resources.
