Periodicals (Journals) Department

The Periodical Collection, 3rd floor, contains a major collection of print and microform titles that are arranged alphabetically by Library of Congress (LC) call numbers. The major collection is on the third floor and other parts are in Storage or inter-shelved with the book collection on the second floor. Together the print and microform periodical collection has almost 5 miles of full shelving.


  • The department handles stack management of the periodical collections on the third floor of the Library as well as in Storage
  • Directional assistance is provide by the staff members working in the Circulation Desk, 1st floor
  • Many periodicals are now online and assistance in accessing them is provided by the Reference Department, 1st floor
