Dear Friend of Idaho State University,
This is the time of year when we spend time thinking about the things we are grateful for in our world, communities and home.
Here at Idaho State University, we have plenty to be thankful for. Our talented faculty and staff are making new discoveries and changing the world around us. In Meridian, for example, scientists are using super computers to discover new drugs that can help fight bacterial illness and disease.
We are thankful for our faculty in the classroom, who are helping to build future leaders, and for the staff who work hard every day to make sure our students have the
college experience they need and deserve.
We are especially grateful for our students - after all, they are the reason Idaho State University is here. Not only are our students smart, driven and curious, but they are making a difference in the lives of those around them as well. For example, because of the work of Professor Alex Bolinger's organizational behavior students, a 6-year old girl who suffers from a life-threatening disease will have the opportunity to go to Disney World. Bolinger's class worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and hosted fundraisers, raked lawns and held a silent auction to fund her trip.
Finally, at Idaho State University, we are thankful for you. It is people like you who make a difference for our students. We have generous friends, such as the Wheatley family, whose gifts have allowed us to create a more beautiful and welcoming campus. Our partners in the business world offer our students their knowledge and expertise, along with opportunities for work experience in their chosen fields. Our community friends attend sporting events and cheer on our student-athletes in our endeavors.
Thank you for all that you do, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
