Question: Do you believe the ISU graduate was well prepared in theory and clinical practice to handle completely the entry-level requirements of the job?

Answer: All respondents answered "yes".

Question: If you were to rate the graduate on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor, how would you rate the graduate's overall job knowledge?

Answer: The average of all respondents was "5".

Questions: Are there any areas in the radiographic science curriculum that you believe should be stressed more or added?

Answer: Two respondents answered "no". Three respondent answered "yes", with the following remarks: "More IV experience and more experience drawing blood." "Proper communication with nurses during patient hand offs". "Have noticed several students who lack motivation and initiative. Really stress that clinicals are a 2 year job interview. Also have had students apply from other other sites and they have not been allowed OR experience on their own. This really disqualifies them for jobs here."

Question: Would you be willing to hire another graduate of the ISU program if the chance arose?

Answer: All respondents answered "yes". One respondent said, "The last group of seniors had a lack of motivation to do the work after they got all of their comps. That makes me think twice about hiring them. I've turned away 4 applicants who were ISU students because of their lack of work ethic.."

Question: Please provide any suggestions you have for improving the ISU radiographic science program that have not been covered in this survey.

Answer: Most respondents did not answer this question. One respondent said "Patient interactions are just as important as the skills to do the x-rays. We look for techs that know how to work, have the skills to perform the work needed, and can interact with the patient in a kind, professional way that will help (the patient) to leave satisfied with their experience at our imaging center."
