Scholarships — Division of Health Sciences

Any Major Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary Scholarship - Must be enrolled in the Division of Health Sciences (any major); Financial Need required; full-time. Awarded based on Academic Merit and Financial Need.
Any Major; Graduate Student Bartlome/Ikenberry Memorial - Designed to promote research in the Health Professions at ISU through supplemental funding for grants to be administered by the College of Health Professions Research Committee. Selection of candidates and recipients will be determined through a competition. Must be a graduate student in the College of Health Professions.
Audiology Majors Brockett, George F. & Betty T. - Scholarships awarded to full-time upper division undergraduate Audiology majors, with secondary preference given to Graduate students. Special consideration shall be given to students with financial need who show extra promise of contributing to Audiology. Minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa required. Recipients must be U. S. or Canadian residents.
Counseling Major Feit, Dr. Stephen and Susan - Must be a student enrolled in the Department of Counseling. The award will be given based on merit (GPA). Minimum GPA: Undergraduates (3.0) and Graduate students (3.0).
Counseling, Masters, in Student Affairs, College or School Counseling Jensen, Jay and Donna - Must be students that have no less than a 3.50 minimum GPA. Must be Graduate students seeking a Master of Counseling in Student Affairs, College Counseling or School Counseling. Recipients must be accepted into the program.
Audiology Doctoral Students Theobald, Steve and Judy - Awarded to doctoral students in the Audiology program. Preference given to students demonstrating financial need. Students shall demonstrate a high level of professionalism, exhibit professional conduct, and represent the profession effectively.
Dental Hygiene Majors Christensen, Gordon J., Ormond, Errol K. , & Romriell, Gregory E. - Recipients must be enrolled in the Dental Hygiene Program at ISU. Must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Idaho. First preference will be given to a student who graduated from a Pocatello high school.

Dental Hygiene Majors McCune, David F., Memorial - Preference to Juniors or Seniors who are accepted into the Dental Hygiene program who have dental assisting experience and financial need.
Dental Hygiene Meek, Dr. Richard & Lucy – Student must be accepted in to the ISU Dental Hygiene program. The award may be used for instruments, supplies or regional boards. If awarded to a Junior, that student may apply for renewal for senior year. Preference given to a single parent with children or a married student. Recipient must be a resident of Idaho. Award may be based on need as well as academic performance.
Dental Hygiene Majors Simpson, Shelley,Memorial - One scholarship awarded annually to a student majoring in Dental Hygiene.
Dietetics Majors Rowe, Jeannette, Memorial - Awarded to Juniors majoring in Dietetics with a minimum 2.0 cumulative gpa who are members of Phi Upsilon Omicron (Phi U).
Health Professions; Non-Trad Nursing Springer, Ted C., Memorial - Recipients should demonstrate motivation, academic potential, and/or leadership potential. Students involvement with professional organizations will be considered. Should be Junior, Senior or graduate students in the field of Health Related Professions at ISU. Preference given to nontraditional nursing majors. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Health Sciences Majors Johnson, Albert M. - Awarded to students in the college of Health Sciences.
Health Sciences Majors Albertson's Foundation, Division of Health Sciences - Variable amounts awarded to students majoring in the College of Health Sciences with at least a 2.5 GPA, financial need & academic promise. The intention is to help students whose ultimate goal is to serve children in school (address in statement).
Health Science Majors Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Auxiliary - Awards provided to any student in the Division of Health Sciences.  Award shall be given based on academic merit and financial need.
Health Sciences Majors IHC/PRMC - Annual award made to a Health Sciences major who demonstrates motivation, academic achievement, & leadership potential. Preference given to applicants who express, in writing, an intent to work at one of the IHC facilities following graduation. Must be U.S. citizen. Minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa required.
Health Sciences Majors PMC Health Care Foundation - Scholarship for students in the health care related professions.
Health Sciences Majors Rural Education Access - Scholarship for students wishing to enroll in the Idaho Rural Scholarship Program at the Institute of Rural Health.
Nursing Majors Beckley, Helen V. and Robert L. - Scholarship award given to Nursing majors (accepted into the program) in their Junior or Senior year. Recipients must be full-time students. Must demonstrate financial need.
Nursing Majors Crozier, Vivian & Wayne, Memorial - Annual award made to an ISU nursing student who demonstrates an active interest in politics. Must be an Idaho Resident.
Nursing Majors Harman, Barbara B. - Awarded to undergraduate or graduate students seeking a degree in Nursing. Must be full-time.
Nursing Major Harrison, Dr. Alene - Must be a student enrolled in the Department of Nursing. Must be an Idaho resident. Preference is given to first generation students. Students who already possess a baccalaureate degree in another discipline are not eligible. Recipient must be in good standing and have grades placing them in top 50% of their program. Awards may be renewable for students who remain in good academic standing. Students who take a leave for one or more semesters are no longer eligible.
Nursing Majors Hyde, Roberta "Bobbie" Stanton, PHD, R.N. Scholarship - Must be a part-time student enrolled in the A.D./Diploma to Baccalaureate RN program who is not receiving tuition reimbursement from their employer.
Nursing Majors Loscalzo, Eleanor, Nursing - Renewable scholarship awarded to Nursing majors with minimum 2.5 cumulative gpas.
Nursing Majors McKinnon, Ruby G., Memorial - Scholarship awarded to a student accepted into the Nursing program who is an Idaho resident with preference to students from a small town.
Nursing Majors McRoberts, Jacqueline, Nursing - Student must be accepted into the School of Nursing and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Recipient must be an Idaho Resident and a US Resident.
Nursing Majors Pyrah, Rose Ainsworth, Nursing - Annual award made to an undergraduate or graduate Nursing student who demonstrates motivation, academic potential, & financial need. Applicants may be part-time students.
Nursing Majors Mays, Randall & Belva - Must be a Nursing major who has been accepted into the program. Must be full-time. Preference is given to Non-Traditional students. Financial need is required. Contact major department for more information.
Nursing Majors Raether, Ellen/Blackfoot Sr. Citizens - Annual award given to undergraduate or graduate Nursing students who demonstrate financial need. Graduate students may be part-time. Minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa required.
Nursing Majors Springer, Ted C., Memorial - Annual award to students who have been accepted into the Nursing program & demonstrate financial need. Preference given to non-traditional students. Minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa required.
Nursing Majors Thatcher, Richard & Anne - Award shall be given to students enrolled in the Nursing Program. Award will be based on academic merit and financial need.
Nursing Majors Woo, Mee C., Nursing - Award given to a student enrolled full-time and accepted into the Nursing Program at ISU.
Nursing Majors; Graduate McLaughlin, Diana, Graduate Scholarship - Awarded based on academic merit. Must be enrolled under the Nursing Education Option and shall be expected to maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Preference shall be given to a student who has practiced as an RN for at least 5 years. Must be a Graduate student.
Nursing Majors, Minority Student Truchot, Belma, Colter - Annual award made to a Junior or Senior Nursing major with a minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa. Preference to minority students with first preference to Shoshone-Bannock students, preferably from Fort Hall. Consideration will be given to financial need, motivation, leadership, & academic potential.
Nursing Majors; Minority Student Kimball, Spencer W. – Designed to provide financial assistance to a minority student accepted into the School of Nursing. Preference will be given to a Native American student, especially one interested in progressing to become a Nurse Practitioner. May be received after the first year up until the completion of an undergraduate degree providing adequate progress is maintained.
Nursing; Protestant or Catholic Caroyn Overstreet Nursing - Awarded to students enrolled in the Nursing Department at ISU. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and must be of Protestant or Catholic Faiths.
Occupational Therapy Majors Lloyd, Arthur "A.J." P., Jr. - Annual award given to a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa.
Pharmacy Majors Albertsons Community Pharmacy Business - Must be a student enrolled in one of the last three years of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Must have a GPA of a 'C' or higher. The recipient must be currently employed in a community pharmacy setting. The student must reside in the state where the pharmacy school is located or an adjacent state in which there are Albertsons' stores. Preference may be given to an Albertsons/Jewel-Osco/Drug/Sav-on drugs/Acme associate or child of associate. Contact the College of Pharmacy for more information.
Pharmacy Majors Araki-Kawaguchi, Michael Edward - Renewable scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy Major with a minimum 2.8 cumulative gpa. Preference to students who have aspirations of owing an independent pharmacy.
Pharmacy Majors Asian American College of Pharmacy Alumni - Scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy Major of Chinese ancestry. Second preference to any Asian heritage. Third preference to any student based upon merit and need.
Pharmacy Majors Bernat, Judith Marie - One scholarship awarded to a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Pharmacy major. Applicants must be able to demonstrate leadership & academic potential. Minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa with a 3.0 gpa for the previous semester is required.
Pharmacy Majors Broyles, Lane Alan - Scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy Major with a minimum 2.8 cumulative gpa, who is an Idaho Resident.
Pharmacy Majors Broyles, Neal Atlee, Jr. - Scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy Major with a minimum 2.8 cumulative gpa and who has been an Idaho Resident for at least ten years. Preference to a student who excelled in Math and Chemistry during their Pre-Pharmacy course work.
Pharmacy Majors Carlson, Joseph W. - Renewable award for married Pharmacy students who have a minimum 2.75 cumulative gpa.
Pharmacy Major Carte, W.B. & W.H. - Awardee must be an undergraduate who demonstrates motivation, academic and leadership potential. Preference will be given to a student who is an athlete.
Pharmacy Major Corbett, Dr. Glenn W. – Awarded to first-year students who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to professionalism. Recipient must be full-time and maintain a 2.0 GPA.
Pharmacy Majors Cosgrove, Frank P., Pharmacy - One or more scholarships awarded annually to a third or fourth year professional students in the Doctor of Pharmacy program who exhibit financial need, academic excellence & a sense of professionalism through extracurricular activities.
Pharmacy Majors Dixon, Robert L. & W.H. "Bill", Memorial - One scholarship awarded annually to a student enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
Pharmacy Majors Drive, Harold W. & Lois Austin, Pharmacy Fellowship - Recipients shall be enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program at the P4 level who are completing their clinical rotation out of the area. Preference given to students who are married. Second preference is given to the student demonstrating the greatest financial need. All recipients shall be English speaking citizens of the United States.
Pharmacy Majors E, I, AND J Memorial - One scholarship awarded annually to a full-time student enrolled in the Pharmacy Program who demonstrates financial need. Must be a U. S. citizen & an Idaho resident having graduated from an Idaho High School.
Pharmacy Major Fry, Sidney J. & Amy - Must be a student enrolled in the professional Pharmacy program in the College of Pharmacy. The student must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to Idaho residents if multiple candidates demonstrate compelling financial need. Contact the College of Pharmacy for more information.
Pharmacy Major Garner, Jennifer A. - Must be a P4 student with a high academic standing, who exhibits leadership and demonstrates a dedication to serving others; who demonstrates financial need; and who intends to practice clinical pharmacy upon graduation. Pharmacy Majors Goettsch, Dr. Robert & Janice - Award made to a Pharmacy major, who demonstrates financial need, with a minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa and has been an Idaho resident for three years.
Pharmacy Majors Hepworth, W. Robert - Award made to a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year professional Pharmacy student. Award may be renewable. Recipient shall exhibit commitment to excellence in the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required by a pharmacist dedicated to exemplary patient care. Additional criteria for selection are a sense of professionalism through leadership and involvement in the student branches of professional pharmacy associations and extracurricular activities and demonstrated financial need.
Pharmacy Major Joosten, Robert D., Memorial - Must be enrolled in College of Pharmacy Professional Pharmacy program as P-2 or P-3 student. Must be a resident of Idaho and graduated from an Idaho high school. Must demonstrate financial need.
Pharmacy Majors Holmes, Colonel Garth H. - One scholarship awarded annually to a student enrolled in the first year Pharmacy Program who demonstrates financial need. Must be an Idaho resident.
Pharmacy Majors Kanarr, John and Virginia, Memorial - Awards shall assist female students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy professional degree program. Renewable as long as a minimum 2.75 GPA is maintained.
Pharmacy Major Kerr, G. Richard “Dick” - Must be a student enrolled full-time in the professional pharmacy program in the College of Pharmacy. The award shall be given to P2, P3, or P4 students who demonstrate academic excellence, a sense of professionalism through leadership and involvement in the student branches of professional pharmacy associations and/or civic leadership or participation, and who demonstrate financial need. Pharmacy Majors Mailhot, Mark and Rachel - Award shall be used to provide an annual award to a student enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program as a 1st or 2nd year student. Students must demonstrate financial need and have a GPA no greater than 3.3. Preference given to 2nd year students.

Pharmacy Majors Moss, Mary Gunderson - Scholarship awarded annually to a full-time married student enrolled in the professional degree program. May be renewable. Must have a minimum gpa of 2.75 for Pharmacy coursework. Must be an Idaho resident having graduated from an Idaho High School.
Pharmacy Majors Murray, George T., Memorial - Award made to a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year professional Pharmacy student. Award may be renewable. The criteria for selection are academic excellence, a sense of professionalism through leadership and involvement in the student branches of professional pharmacy associations and/or civic leadership or participation,and demonstrated financial need.
Pharmacy Majors Osterman, Angela, Memorial - Award made to a P2 or P3 level students in the College of Pharmacy. The award shall assist students who demonstrate financial need, who are residents of Idaho and who graduated from an Idaho high school. The student should demonstrate commitment to and a passion for the pharmacy profession, as well as an interest in community pharmacy. Preference shall be given to qualified students suffering from a personal hardship or loss.
Pharmacy Majors Past Presidents Idaho State Pharmacy Association - Preference will be given to P1 or P2 students with minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa who graduated from an Idaho high school.
Pharmacy Majors Paul, Ara G. & Shirley - Preference will be given to Pharmacy majors who are single parents. Financial need and academic performance will be considered.
Pharmacy Major Pharmacy Alumni Memorial - Must be a student enrolled in the professional pharmacy program in the College of Pharmacy. Scholarships shall be awarded to students based on financial need, academic excellence, leadership and community service as exemplified by providing outreach community health services to underserved populations. Pharmacy Majors Rounds, A.D. & Irene S. - Bi-annual award that will assist students entering their P2 or P3 level in the College of Pharmacy professional degree program.
Pharmacy Majors Savage, Frank L. - Scholarships awarded annually to students majoring in Pharmacy.
Pharmacy Majors Schwamb, Fredric E. - Renewable Scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy major who demonstrates financial need. Awards shall assist married students with a baccalaureate degree who have returned to school after being out of school for a period of time.
Pharmacy Major Skaggs Pharmacy Scholarship (Alsam Foundation) - Awarded to a minority student enrolled in the College of Pharmacy. Pocatello and Alaska students are eligible. Student must be full-time, minimum 2.0 GPA. Contact the College of Pharmacy for more information.
Pharmacy Majors Sly, Sidney L. & Hetty H. - Awarded to a Doctor of Pharmacy major with a cumulative gpa no greater than 3.8.
Pharmacy Majors Smith, Ralph and Betty -Award will assist 3rd or 4th year students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy professional degree program. The students must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA for Pharmacy coursework.
Pharmacy Majors Story, William G., Memorial - Award made to a professional Pharmacy student from the Treasure Valley area to include the counties of Ada and Canyon. Award may be renewable provided the student maintains a minimum 2.75 gpa for Pharmacy coursework.
Pharmacy Major Streeper, Noall R. & Anna N., Pharmacy - Must be an Idaho resident enrolled in the College of Pharmacy.
Pharmacy Majors Sumida, Roy R. & Linda - Award made to students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
Pharmacy Majors Tunrarebi, Bolujo F., Memorial - Award for African students in the College of Pharmacy who have maintained a minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa.
Pharmacy Majors Updyke, Lawrence W. & Debra L. - Award made to a professional Pharmacy student who demonstrates financial need and who is attempting to fund their education with resources of their own, perhaps because assistance from friends or family is not available or possible. As an alternative, the award shall be made to a student with Type 1 diabetes. Award may be renewable.
Pharmacy Majors Waid, Guy Curts, Memorial - Awarded to student enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Preference to Idaho residents. Minimum 2.80 cumulative gpa required.
Pharmacy Majors Wells, Richard & Barbara - Scholarship awarded to students in their third or fourth year of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa required.
Pharmacy Majors Wells, Rosemary Sampson, Memorial - Award made to a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year female professional Pharmacy student who is an Idaho resident and is involved in the student branches of professional pharmacy associations. Award may be renewable. The criteria for selection are academic excellence, a sense of professionalism through leadership and involvement in professional organizations and extracurricular activities, and demonstrated financial need.
Pharmacy Major Wight, Dr. Dennis L., M.D. - Awarded to a full-time student enrolled in the Professional Pharmacy program in the ISU College of Pharmacy. Preference given to: male students, students who are also working while attending ISU, students from Idaho and Utah. Student shall demonstrate financial need. Minimum 2.0 GPA.
Physical Therapy Major Clark, PT & Ballard/Kimberly, Rehabilitation Science Endowment - Recipients shall be student majoring in Physical Therapy at ISU.May be any class level.
Physical Therapy Majors Physical Therapy - Annual award given to a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa.
Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy Major URfer, Alex, Diversity and Enrichment - Must be a 3rd year Doctor of PT student upon entering the third year of study OR a Master of Occupational Therapy student entering their final year of study. Award shall be given to an unmarried female who is in good academic and clinical standing. Recipients must demonstrate professional initiative in both academic and clinical endeavors. If no qualified female candidates, the award may be given to a qualified male or female international student. Contact the OT/PT department.
Physician's Assistant, School Counseling, or Nursing Majors Allen, Crystal and Clark, Family - Annual award given to a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student with a minimum 2.75 cumulative gpa who plans to practice in Southeast Idaho (Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Bonneville, Caribou, Franklin, Power, Madison, or Oneida counties) upon graduation. Preference to Idaho residents. Must submit an essay (100 words or less) stating how their future plans will impact the people of Southeastern Idaho.
Pre-Med Heiner, Douglas & Joy - A scholarship awarded to a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student preparing for medical school with a minimum 3.5 cumulative gpa. It is renewable for up to two additional years.
Professional Pharmacy Major Customedica Pharmacy - Student must be enrolled full-time in the Professional Pharmacy program. Must be currently serving, or have been accepted to serve, as interns or externs with Customedica Pharmacy.
Professional Pharmacy Major Hendrickson, Dorothy, and Shoenberg, Hazel J. - Must be a P-1 student from Pocatello or Meridian campus.
Public Health, Master of Louis, Dr. Galen, Endowment - Awarded to a full-time graduate student in the Master of Public Health program.
Radiographic Science Major Bingham Health Care Foundation for Radiographic Science - Full-time undergraduate enrolled in the Radiographic Science program. Must be from Bingham County or a dependent of an employee or volunteer at Bingham Memorial Hospital or one of its affiliates. Must demonstrate financial need.
Radiographic Science Major Radiographic Science - Scholarships awarded to students majoring in Radiographic Science who demonstrate motivation, academic & leadership potential as well as clinical ability.
